The throat chakra is located at the base of the neck
It is the 5th chakra and is represented by the colour blue
The associated element is Ether
The effects the functioning of the endocrine glands the Thyroid and parathyroid glands
It is related to our will power, creativity, self expression, our ability to speak our truth, to communicate and to listen.
It is affected by our thoughts, sound and the way we speak.
If there is a lack of connection to the energy of this centre we may find that:
We do not speak up for ourselves
We find it challenging to speak our truth
We make too much effort
The emotional imbalance associated with this energy centre is deception.
The Thyroid controls our metabolism and effects how much energy we have. If we feel flat or lacking motivation it may be due to an imbalance or blockage in this centre.
To create alignment in this centre, it is necessary to
Open the heart centre
To be aware of our higher will - Not my will but thine be done
Speak with kindness and compassion
What helps?
Use sound, humming, singing or reading out loud
Repeat the sound HAM
Still the mind and take time to be silent
Gentle neck rolls
Yoga postures, seated cat/cow, the plough, the fish pose and the shoulders stand
1- 3 drops of Lugol’s iodine in water for 4-6 weeks.
